A welcoming place to know, love and serve God.
In our epistle to James, in the last line he writes, faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead. I remember my dad and brother watching the Detroit Lions playing football (yes, Detroit does have a football team) and how involved they got in the game. Don and Dad would sit on the edge of their seats and call out plays and curse the black and white striped referee and yell at the TV to tell the couch he was doing a lousy job. There they sat in their comfortable Lazyboys, armchair football players, telling others how to win.
God gives us opportunities of service. He gives us possibilities to grow spiritually. You’d be surprised what getting involved will do for your life: for example, coming in half-an-hour earlier on Sunday mornings to help with Children’s church (9:30); volunteering for Project Blessing, the prayer shawl ministry, or Regency visitation; joining a special church group like the monthly ECW meetings, the Wednesday mornings study (10:00) or men’s group on Saturday mornings (9:00), or perhaps the church choir or altar guild.
This Fall season consider stepping up your participation in one of the opportunities this church offers you to serve God and your fellow man. It will increase your faith. Don’t be an armchair Christian.
Faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead.
