"Community Prayer Shawl Ministry Group"


Sept thru May.
First and third Wednesday of each month
from 1-3 pm

For over 10 years we have been making prayer shawls and lap robes for the members of the community.

We open and close each meeting with a special prayer for the makers and receivers of the items we are making. While we knit or crochet these items prayers are made to the persons who will receive them. They are given to people who need comforting, a person who is ill, and individual who is grieving from a loss. They are also given in appreciation or for a celebration, such as a new baby or a wedding. In addition to the prayers provided by the makers of the prayer shawls or lap robes a special prayer and blessings were offered by Rev. Kay Houck and Reverend Shirley Seely.

We welcome all knitters, crocheters, beginners or experienced, of the community to join our group. We meet the first and third Wednesday of each month from September through May and from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Trinity Episcopal Church. Patterns and yarn will be furnished.
